FREAK KITCHEN (SWE) - TOINEN KATTAUS SUOMESSA (9.3.2010)
Ruotsalainen Freak Kitchen esiintyy heinäkuussa Turussa, Tampereella ja Helsingissä. Bändi vieraili ensimmäisen kerran Suomessa lokakuussa 2009, jolloin julkaistiin bändin seitsemäs levy Land of the Freaks. Päällikkökitaristi Mattias IA Eklundhin johtaman trion monen mausteen metallisoppa porisi täydellä teholla ja lokakuussa antia maisteli salien täydeltä väkeä neljän keikan verran. Freak Kitchen kiinnitettiin Tammerfestin esiintyjäkaartiin heti vakuuttavan Tampereen keikan jälkeen. Lisäksi mm. Kuopion Henry's Pubin henkilökunta valitsi vuonna 2009 vierailleen 334 bändin joukosta Freak Kitchenin keikan timanttisimmaksi.
Keikkojen lisäksi myös albumi Land of the Freaks keräsi kiitoksia Suomenkin kamaralla. "Vastaanotto edellisellä kerralla Suomessa oli tyrmäävän upea, joten on ilo tulla kesällä toiselle visiitille", juuri laajan Ranskan kiertueen päättäneen Freak Kitchenin pääkokki Mattias toteaa. "Tiedossa on biisejä, jotka viimeksi jäivät kuulematta ja lavailmekin on muokattu aitoon Land of the Freaks -kuosiin", lupaa suvereenina seremoniamestarina ja lavahuumoristaankin tunnettu Mattias. PAPRIKA KORPS (POL) RETURNS TO FINLAND IN APRIL (22.2.2010)
Poland's most loved reggae band PAPRIKA KORPS is returning to Finland in April for nine shows. The tour is in support of their upcoming album, Metalchem which will be released in support of the April tour.
Paprika Korps have released four previous studio albums as well as a live concert "Live in Tampere" album, which was recorded in honor of the band's Finnish fans - whom they claim are the best in the world. Paprika Korps definitely know the world, as they have played shows in over 25 countries - including the rain stricken United Kingdom and the -40C weather of Novisibirsk in Russia.
Paprika Korps have visited Finland on many, many occasions including festivals like Ilosaarirock, Indie-Iltamat and Jurassic Rock. Renowned for their amazing live shows, Paprika Korps also has numerous sold out club shows to their name in Finland.

BEAUTIFUL JOAN OSBORNE (USA) TO PLAY IN FINLAND (12.2.2010)
American folk singer / songwriter JOAN OSBORNE will perform in Finland for the first time on Saturday 15 May 2010 at Tampere-Talo.
Joan Osborne became an instant hit overnight with the release of her multiplatinum album "Relish" which has gone on to sell over 5 million copies worldwide. Relish was a smash hit in Finland as well, spending 16 weeks on the Finnish Top 40. Joan Osborne has released seven albums all in all. TV SMITH (UK) FINNISH TOUR STARTS TOMORROW! (8.2.2010)
TV SMITH, vocalist for the legendary punk band The Adverts is returning to Finland for a five date tour, visiting Helsinki, Virrat, Tampere, Pori and Seinäjoki.
TV SMITH rose to prominence as the singer and songwriter of the punk band The Adverts, who are best known for their 1977 single "Gary Gilmore's Eyes". When The Adverts split up in November 1979, Smith formed a new band, T.V. Smith's Explorers. They released a single called "Tomahawk Cruise" (a reference to the BGM-109 Tomahawk Cruise missiles) on the independent record label, Chiswick Records.
Smith next went solo and continues to perform as a solo artist today, recording and performing his own songs, often with the backing of a variety of other bands from around the world. This includes members of Germany's Die Toten Hosen, Finland's Punk Lurex OK, The United States' Midnight Creeps, and Spain's Suzy & Los Quattro. His album Misinformation Overload was released in Germany, the UK, Spain and Japan in 2006.
In 2005, he joined the American punk band Amen on their UK tour. As well as supporting, he joined the band on stage for several covers of songs by the Adverts, such as "One Chord Wonders", and "Gary Gilmore's Eyes". Casey Chaos, lead singer of Amen, is a life-long fan of The Adverts, and has even referenced them in a song title on the latest Amen album, Death Before Musick. The song is called "Hello (One Chord Lovers)".

EXILIA (ITA) VISITS HELSINKI IN MARCH (20.1.2010)
Crossover trash metal group EXILIA are due to visit Finland for the first time in March when they visit the 850-capacity Virgin Oil Co. in Helsinki on their European tour in support of their fourth album, My Own Army.
Formed in 1998, Exilia has four album releases to their name, as well as Top 20's throughout Europe. Exilia is one of Italy's largest metal exports and have played hundreds of shows throughout the world and are fronted by metal's most charismatic vocalist Masha Mismanen.

Herra Ylppö & Ihmiset: Pojat Ei Tanssi (18.1.2010)
Herra Ylppö & Ihmiset julkaisee toisen albuminsa, Pojat ei tanssi, tammikuun 20. päivä. Ylppö kuvailee albumiaan seuraavanlaisesti; "Kutsuisin tätä suomenkieliseksi indierockiksi, jota ei juuri ole aiemmin tehty. Tarkoitan siis musiikkisuuntausta, joka on jo pitkään inspiroinut minua. Onhan indien alkuperäinen merkitys vähän toinen. Jo edellisellä Sata Vuotta -levyllä minua kiinnosti jonkun tuoreen musiikillisen kulman tuominen suomenkieliseen rockiin. Tämä ajatus jatkuu edelleen. Toki mukana on ripaus 70-lukuista groovea. Luonnollinen bändisointi on tärkeä. Olen erittäin tyytyväinen yhtyeen svengaavuuteen je sen soundiin. Sanoituksissa olen palannut omalle alueelleni eli yksilön tuntojen kuvaajaksi."

Herra Ylppö & Ihmiset julkaisi debyyttilevyn Sata vuotta helmikuussa 2008. Albumi meni tuolloin suoraan virallisen albumilistan ykköseksi ja myi saman vuoden syksynä kultaa. Debyytti oli niin arvostelu- kuin myyntimenestyskin. Herra Ylppö & Ihmiset voittivat Vuoden debyyttialbumin Emma-patsaan.

DAY ELEVEN MATADOR 20.01.2010 (5.1.2010)
Finnish alternative rock band DAY ELEVEN are due to release their third album, Matador on the 20.01.2010. Day Eleven have previously released two albums, "Almost Over Everything" (2005) and "Sleepwalkers" (2007).
Singer, Janne Pajari comments: "Musically, Matador is a return to our roots. Each song is unique and we feel like we have been able to bring out the acoustic side of our band, which we were unable to achieve in our previous albums."
What makes Matador even more unique and special than the previous two albums is that the band recorded the album themselves. Day Eleven spent three of Finland's darkest, gloomiest and wet autumn weeks in the middle of a forest in a small cottage in northern Finland. The album has been mixed by Australian Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Helmet).

AMORAL YLEX'S MOST WANTED OF 2009 (4.1.2010)
AMORAL's "Year of the Suckerpunch" was the most requested song of 2009 on the Finland's largest national radio station YLEX, with thousands more votes than second placed Uniklubi.
2009 was a good year for Amoral. "Show Your Colours" album was released in May, debuting at #19 on the Finnish album charts. Amoral played numerous large Finnish rock festivals and also did a four week tour of Europe with Amorphis.

SCARLET HARLOTS (UK) IS TO VISIT FINLAND IN NOV. (21.10.2009)
Birmingham five-piece, SCARLET HARLOTS will be playing their first shows out of the UK in Finland in mid-November. Experimental indie-rock mixed with breakbeat and dub is what Scarlet Harlots will be bringing with them to Finland.
Scarlet Harlots shot to fame in the United Kingdom through last Spring's "Orange Unsigned Act" TV-platform that was broadcast on Channel 4 and sponsored by mobile giant Orange. The competition lasted a bit over 3 months. Scarlet Harlots were eliminated from the competition in the early stages, but were brought back because of the large fan support they received. Upon being given a second chance, Scarlet Harlots took no prisoners on their way to the finals. In the end, Scarlet Harlots were placed in third place, but with all the attention they received through the competition the band was able to book themselves a very vast and long UK tour.
Lucky for us, Scarlet Harlots has made time to visit Finland before returning to the studio to record their full length debut album. For now, you can purchase their EP, "Word is Bone, Back is Strong" from all major Internet download vendors, including iTunes Store.
