SKINDRED (UK) & AMARANTHE (SWE) @ MYÖTÄTUULI (1.2.2012)

Myötätuulirock have announced their first signings for their festival from 03.-04.08.2012 and we are happy to announce that Newport, Wales "ragga-metal" band SKINDRED and Gothenburg, Sweden metal stars AMARANTHE have been confirmed to play the festival.

Skindred hit the ground running with their debut, Babylon, which included the breakthrough singles and consistent live favourites, ‘Nobody’, ‘Pressure’ and ‘Selector’. The Skindred demand never waned and it would be five years until the band would re-enter the studio for their sophomore album, ‘Roots Rock Riot’ in 2005. The album was another perfect collection of hard-hitting ragga punk party anthems, exemplified in tracks such as ‘Trouble’, ‘Rat Race’ and ‘Rudeboy For Life’ and the title-track itself. In 2011 the band completed their third album, Union Black, spawning hit singles like "Cut Dem" as well as winning awards like "Kerrang magazines Devotion award".

Amaranthe started 2012 with their first headline Finnish tour and what a tour it was. 2011 was not too shabby either, releasing their self titled debut album, tours across Europe with big names like Hammerfall, debuting at #16 on the Finnish album charts as well as #9 on the Japanese album charts, sold out shows in Japan and so much more. Summer 2012 for Amaranthe is going to be a memorable one, with festivals from Germany to Finland to Sweden and all the way to the United States.
